The 7th edition of the "Regards croisés" inter-twinning photography competition is launched!

This year's theme is "My City, My Heritage: Hidden Heritage", in line with the guideline proposed in the schools.

Thanks to its twinning arrangements, Le Raincy has forged strong ties of friendship with the towns of Caldas da Rainha (Portugal), Clusone (Italy), Finchley-Barnet (England) and Yavné (Israel). This annual inter-twinning photo competition, now a much-anticipated event for local residents, helps to strengthen these ties. In fact, the "Regards croisés" competition was set up without any spirit of competition or rivalry, but on the contrary, to bring our residents closer together and share emotions through photographic moments.

This year, participants are invited to capture some of the lesser-known aspects of their city, to help twinned towns discover new elements of their partners' heritage.

The competition is open to all (except professionals), with no age limit. Each twinned town sets up its own four-member jury, including an elected representative, who awards marks to all the photos received except their own. The three highest-rated photos from each participating town receive a prize (see rules) at a vernissage attended by the Mayor and all residents wishing to take part in the event. The photos will then be exhibited on the railings of a public building in Le Raincy, then in the twinned towns.

We are proud to have initiated this competition, whose success has been undeniable from one year to the next, even in times of health crisis.

So get out your cameras and smartphones for a chance to win a prize and show off a unique side of your city!
